Special Events: THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT SEASON!From its late start to its bright finish, the 64th year on Big Mountain made its mark in history as one of resiliance, a comeback year like no other. In spite of arriving a week late, Opening Day was memorable, the grooming crew and early risers were treated to a lunar eclipse, and the rest of us who came to ski were greeted with an inversion. We ended the season with a sunny bluebird day, a perfect way to end it all. In between the snow fell in feet producing day after day of winter bliss.How will you remember the 2011-2012 Winter Season?I will remember that the snow arrived in time to celebrate New Year's Eve with faceshots - over two feet that week.I will remember that it snowed seven feet in January, and the powder was plentiful.I will remember waking up to a snow report of 20" in 24 hours: a new record for one day's snow.I will remember some of the fun events such as Mardi Gras, Brewfest and Dummy Derby and of course, ending the season with a splash at the Pond Skim.I will remember a few other special events we host here like the Wounded Warriors Project and the Montana Special Olympics.Mostly I will remember skiing with family and friends, and meeting new friends and sharing the mountain we love.Thank you for another great ski season everyone!
